The Story Behind This Song
I think it was around 2002 or 2003 I got invited to a NSAI retreat at a hotel outside of Dixon Tennessee.
It was the gathering of 10 or 15 Pro writers in 45 or 50 not so pro writers.
On the first day I got assigned to this workshop with 3 others to sit in a session with Chuck Jones. I had no idea who he was or what he had written.
About half way through the session someone pulled out a baby Taylor and asked him to play "Your Love Amazes Me". It was the first time I had ever heard the song and it blew me away.
Bout the time the second chorus came around I belted out the harmony I heard in my head (what I use in my version) and it seemed to shock him a little.
That was one of the carrots I came home with. Not meeting Chuck Jones and others which was cool. But putting that song in my repertoire.
