The Story Behind This Song
I've got a lot of history with this song. My first exposure to it was in the film, "The Firm" with Tom Cruise. There was a scene in the movie where cruise and three other actors were walking down Beale Street and in the background, you can hear Robin Ford singing the chorus. The song actually left take more lasting impression than the movie did. I remember watching the credits at the end, getting in my car and going to the record store to buy the CD. It's been a working song in the repertory of every group I've worked with since then and it's the starting track of my album. "A Piece of My Soul".
